Hi FinalSolutionForU (you chose a telling name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F... :-)),

It's commendable that you wish to take a stand against human rights abuse but if you're going to boycott any company that pays taxes to the state of Israel then you'll need to boycott many of the bigger US companies listed in NASDAQ, including Microsoft, Intel, Apple and IBM - they all have R&D offices in Israel and you're probably using a computer or operating system that includes components the design, or licensing, of which resulted in taxes being paid to Israel.

There are thousands of such companies covering many of the hardware, software and internet services you use on a daily basis. There aren't many things you can use which don't include some Israeli licensed or acquired component somewhere in their design, manufacturing or delivery process. In fact WordPress which this blog uses is built using PHP which was developed by Zend - an Israeli company.

But why stop there, if you wish to take a stand against human rights abuse by boycotting countries then you should avoid buying anything that includes a component that was made in China - a country with much worse human rights violations than Israel. I'm sure if you looked really hard you'll be able to find alternatives that don't include anything made in China...

And of course you shouldn't fill your car with gas at the pump because the company from which you buy that gas is probably drilling in countries with worst human rights violations than Israel - some of which are even openly hostile to the United States. Some of the money you pay at the pump goes to pay taxes in those countries.

I could go on but I hope you get the point by now that arbitrarily boycotting private companies because you don't like the country they are based in is not very practical and requires either singling out companies or electing to not use many of the things you take for granted.

... or is this comment just another argument you are trying to make to dissuade merchants and buyers from using a service that can save/earn them time and money? :-)
