“We encourage other people with an interest in an accessible open metaverse to do the same,” Kitely CEO Ilan Tochner told Hypergrid Business."
I thought this was most excellent of Oren and Ilan to do, and for several very good reasons.
In some regards it is supporting what some may call competition, which, in and of itself is pretty cool...but, really, it is supporting the Metaverse, which they do in numerous ways, including several code improvements to OS which we all enjoy in many ways.
So, to my thinking, this continues to show an intelligent trend over time and in several ways, that Kitely is FOR the Meta, and they walk the walk, rather than talk the talk, as others do.
While it may actually lose them "some" business, I think it will gain them more than any possible losses, and the esteem gained throughout the Meta will greatly enhance their overall stature. Showing, yet again, that they understand that supporting the greater Meta, outside of their own grid, is very important.

“Some of my friends have asked me why don’t I create a different name and hide. I say this to all; I don’t like hiding from my mistakes because hiding from them would be me not acknowledging them.” [sic]
I would suggest that using the word "hiding" is not really correct. Being forthright and aboveboard is always better, and though it comes with having to deal with the drama of some others, sometimes, overall it is of great value to be upfront...I think some others should take cues from this approach. The mostly silent majority will notice.
As it is obvious hypergating is the future, I did my own little blog on the matter recently, so, if you please, dear readers, I hope you enjoy my own "take" on the matter, while I do a little bit of hawking...lol [and shillaber for myself] [and use that new word I just found, too]-)))
